PART TIME STAFF ACCOUNTANT NEEDED!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Staff Account with solid accounting and finance skills, to join our growing organization. This individual will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate and accurate accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
Hours: 20-25 per week
Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour depending on experience

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process daily cash receipts, verify accuracy and post to general ledger.
  • Reconcile multiple bank statements to QuickBooks on a weekly basis.
  • Reconcile Millennium database reports to QuickBooks reports for annual Campaign.
  • Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple entities.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual account.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deliverables are completed timely.
  • Prepare financial management reports as required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closes under the supervision of the Finance Director.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures under the supervision of the Finance Director.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Prepare financial audit schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
  • Support project work as required by Finance Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Finance Director.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Experience in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
  • 2-3 years experience

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Reports To: Marketing & Communications Director
Classification: UNPAID INTERNSHIP

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Intern will assist the Marketing & Communications team to ensure the smooth running of the department's daily operations. This is an 8-12 week commitment with approximately 10-20 hours per week.

The Intern is responsible for assisting the Marketing & Communications team, as needed, with the following:

·         Managing day-to-day operations of various multimedia projects, including website, social media, weekly e-newsletters

·         Assist with coordination and production of print projects, including Shalom New Haven newspaper and collateral materials for various internal departments

·         Assist with strategic brainstorming, marketing strategy and planning, developing collateral material and distribution

·         Work with key internal contacts to coordinate programming and events by developing and maintaining marketing plans and calendars

·         Develop and maintain key media contacts lists, editorial calendars and events calendars

·         Maintain brand identity and consistency through implementation of organization-wide standards, procedures and protocols to protect the use of the mission statement, logo, tag line, brand requirements, etc.

·         Assist the Marketing and Communications department in all other functions as necessary

·         Must take initiative and be able to complete projects accurately and on time

Skills/Qualifications:

·         Excellent oral & written communications and sharp editing skills

·         Research, organizational and presentation skills

·         Knowledge of, or experience in, Social Media strategy and execution

·         Experience in media pitching and outreach

·         Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task

·         Working towards a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field

EXPERIENCED LIFEGUARDS AND SWIM INSTRUCTORS NEEDED!

Must be mature and reliable.
Must have current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications.
Previous teaching experience preferred
Flexible hours.Group and Private swim lessons.
