CBJ is proud to present, “The Merchant of Venice" by William Shakespeare (or at least our best approximation)" -- an award-winning play by Drew Mindell, a former member of B’nai Jacob Players and a current Emory University playwriting major. Winner of the prestigious David L. Shelton Award, this play was given a staged reading through the 2021 Kennedy Center's American College Theater Festival. It tells the story of the artists imprisoned in the Theresienstadt camp-ghetto, in the style of Yiddish theater. "The Merchant of Venice…” was conceived as part of the Emory Student Undergraduate Research Experience.
The play will be presented for viewing via ZOOM on Sunday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a talkback with the playwright. For info and Zoom links, contact cbj.receptionist@gmail.com or 203-389-2111.
