Voices of Hope requests your presence at the 8th Annual Greater Hartford International Holocaust Remembrance Day commemorating the January 1945 Liberation of Auschwitz.

The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27—the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau—as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On this annual day of commemoration, the UN urges every member state to honor the victims of the Nazi era and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.

Program includes a dairy brunch, presentation of the 2018 Chesed Award to Ben Cooper, Holocaust liberator, recognition of local Holocaust survivros, and musical selections by Classical Magnet student Victoria Brooks, Hazzan Sanford Cohn and granddaughter of survivor, Hannah Rose Berkowitz.

The 2018 Chesed Award recipient is Ben Cooper. The Award is bestowed on individuals who demonstrate exemplary "acts of loving kindness" that find expression in the mission of Voices of Hope.

Thank you to our all our generous donors, JFACT and the Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford. Our work in schools, universities and the community at large is not possible without your generosity. Please register below and consider an additional donation to Voices of Hope in honor of or in memory of friends and family. Your sponsorship is gratefully appreciated and will be listed in the event program.

RSVP is required by Tuesday, January 24th, 2018.

Voices of Hope

Organizer of International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Voices of Hope is a non profit organization created by descendants of Holocaust survivors from across Connecticut. Voices of Hope’s Bold Mission is to fulfill our family’s legacy by honoring them and keeping their stories alive for future generations. We accomplish this by categorizing and sharing the experiences of Holocaust survivors for the benefit of all generations. Voices of Hope teaches the horrors of the Holocaust and other genocides and provides resources for survivors and their invaluable messages to humanity. Voices of Hope maintains historical accuracy about the evils of prejudice and intolerance, and to foster a culture of courage against hate, bigotry, indifference and inhumanity. We cannot change the past, we can only hope these stories and life lessons will positively affect the future.
