BEKI's Weekly Wednesday Zoom Schmooze this week will be about CONECT: Congregations Organized for a New Connecticut. CONECT is a broad- based organization — multi-racial, multi-faith, urban and suburban — made up of 37 congregations from Hamden to Stamford that organize together on issues of common concern to their families, communities and the greater good. Our featured speaker will be Matt McDermott, Lead Organizer for CONECT. Matt has led CONECT through successful campaigns on issues as varied as immigration rights, health insurance rates, criminal justice reforms, and police accountability. Matt will be joined by Alana Rosenberg from Temple Emanuel in Orange, who has been active with CONECT’S Criminal Justice Reform Team and Clean Slate legislative campaign.
