Southern Connecticut State University's Judaic Studies program and the Hillel Club are proud to present a virtual commemoration of the Holocaust, with special guast speaker Endre (Andy) Sarkany.

Andy Sarkany, who has told his compelling story of survival to thousands of people. Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1936, Sarkany was a child survivor who lived through the horrors of the Holocaust with 150 orphaned children in the Budapest Ghetto. After the war, he lived under the oppressive Soviet regime where he was prohibited from attending university. He was able to escape and immigrate to the United States after the 1956 Hungarian uprising. Sarkany eventually attended university, earned a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, and went on to a successful career and family life. With antisemitism again on the rise, this event delivers an inspiring message of how faith triumphs over evil and love triumphs over hate.
