PLEASE NOTE: Due to unforeseen scheduling complications, this event has been canceled. However, Ruth will still be coming to New Haven and will be speaking at a lunch session at 12:00 pm at the Slifka Center at Yale about her book and her family story. The information for that event can be found here: https://slifkacenter.org/event/talk-on-identity-journey-and-family/

Join us at the JCC as we welcome author and anthropologist Dr. Ruth Behar to share insights from her book, Traveling Heavy: A Memoir in Between Journeys. Ruth will share about the complex nature of identity, bringing in stories from her Yiddish-Sephardic-Cuban-American family and how this upbringing led her into a life as a Cultural Anthropologist.

This program is part of our Celebration of Jewish Latin & Ladino Life in Greater New Haven.

Sponsor: JCRC, JCC of Greater New Haven, Jewish Book Council
