IMPROVE your GOLF GAME with MASSAGE

Service Specialist: Charlie Blake

Contrary to popular belief, golf can be quite physically demanding. The golf swing requires strength, stability, explosive power, and flexibility to perform movement that produces some of the fastest club head and ball speeds of any sport. The effect of these repeated large forces on the body can lead to different types of injuries including lower back, rotator cuff/shoulder, elbow, and even hip joint issues.

A Therapeutic Sports Massage can help by realigning and stretching those muscles improving a player’s range of motion, flexibility, relieving pain, and improving overall performance. Swing the club as you always wanted to . . and play pain-free!

Other Benefits of Massage Therapy for Golf:

●  Increases circulation that assists in removing metabolic wastes that can accumulate in muscles due to overuse and the repetitive motion

●  Reduce muscle spasms, trigger points and adhesions to help prevent injury

●  Improve range of motion and flexibility resulting in increased power and performance.

●  Decrease anxiety, stress, and improve mental focus

COMPRESSION THERAPY

Technology and Fitness for optimal health

Service Specialist: Charlie Blake or Tara Aksoy

What is compression therapy?

Compression therapy has been around for decades as a medical treatment for a condition called lymphedema (chronic swelling).

The root of this lies in the science of blood flow. Your circulatory system delivers oxygen, nutrients and hormones to every cell in your body. Simultaneously, this complex circuit removes metabolic wastes such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid, effectively flushing your system of toxins.

Why try compression therapy?

The idea behind compression therapy is that by increasing blood flow throughout the body, encouraging your body to deliver more oxygen and nutrients, speed up recovery, relieve pain and improve athletic performance.

Benefits of Compression Therapy:

  • Increasing flexibility and range of motion

  • Removing exercise-related wastes, like lactic acid

  • Decrease muscle fatigue

  • Reducing swelling and inflammation

  • Speeding up muscle recovery

  • Preventing delayed-onset muscle soreness

  • Relieving muscle pain

  • Improving athletic performance

Gua Sha

Scrape away illness. Gua sha involves using a smooth-edged tool (like a small wooden spoon, buffalo horn, or a gemstone gua sha tool) to gently scrape areas of your body, which raises tiny round spots on your skin. The spots are known as petechiae, and their presence signals that there's bleeding under the skin, Gould says. In fact, "gua" means scrape, while "sha" means sand, referring to the sand-like appearance of petechiae, Gould explains. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, many diseases and health complaints can be traced back to stagnant "qi" (known as life force energy) and blood in the body, per Johns Hopkins Medicine. By stimulating petechiae at specific points, gua sha is believed to encourage healthy flow of energy and blood.
